The spring is a busy time for the Department of English Studies Helpers. At the end of March we celebrated the graduating class with a party at the New Otani Hotel. It was a wonderful night of congratulating the senior students on all of their achievements, catching up with classmates and hearing encouraging messages from each of the professors.
Best of luck to all of the class of 2019! We can’t wait to see the wonderful things you will accomplish!
Soon after, in early April, we were off to Orientation Camp to welcome in the new class of first year students.
Once at camp, we did our best to make all the new students feel comfortable and give them whatever guidance we could about university life.
In the evening, the faculty entertained everyone with their personal stories and secret talents and messages for us, that lightened the mood.
In the end, it was a great experience for all of us and we made many memories with our helper team, the faculty, and all of the new students!
Thanks to all of the helpers who have worked so hard to make these experiences memorable for all the students entering and graduating from Sophia! We can’t wait to see what the new year will bring!
