In this video clip, I discuss an important topic in American immigration history. The United States has been known as a “nation of immigrants.” While the phrase underscores the tradition of inclusiveness, diversity, and multiculturalism, the US has another important tradition in its immigration history: “nativism,” which can be defined as a strong anti-immigrant sentiment.
