The Center for Islamic Area Studies at Sophia University (SIAS) was established in 2006 to develop further the accumulated knowledge of Islamic studies at Sophia University. The Center is collaborating with the Institute of Asian Cultural Studies, the Faculty of Global Studies, and the Graduate Program in Area Studies, as well as with other educational and research institutions outside Sophia University, and is developing its activities on a global scale.
As of April 1, 2022, the SIAS will become the Institute of Islamic Area Studies at Sophia University, one of the 12 research units (institutes) that make up the Permanent Research Division of the Research Organization. We look forward to your continued support.
