International Conference on “The Age of the Second-Generation of Migrants:Overcoming Ethnic Inequalities” Co-hosted by the Institute of Global Concern of Sophia University and the Social Science Research Institute of International Christian University
Although children of migrants in Japan have become increasingly salient in the world of sport or entertainment, they are still suffering from ethnic inequalities. How can we narrow the gap in educational attainment? In this conference, we will first examine how socio-economic background, ethnic origin, and gender shaped the educational inequalities in children of migrants, using the cases of the USA and France. Young researchers of second-generation migrants address the question based on their fieldwork in Japan.
