An International Workshop was organized for the 10 nations of ASEAN

 文化庁委託事業「アセアン10ヵ国の文化遺産教育に資する国際連携の構築」の国際ワークショップ(実施責任者:アジア人材養成研究センター所長 石澤良昭)が2022年1月8日(土)、9日(日)オンランで開催されました。当日は、8ヵ国(カンボジア、ミャンマー、タイ、マレーシア、ベトナム、インドネシア、インド、日本)から、25名の文化遺産教育の専門家が参加しました。
 最初に、上智学院理事長の佐久間勤先生による開会挨拶があり、引き続いてカンボジア王立芸術大学学長のHeng Sophaday先生、上智大学名誉教授のCyril Veliath先生、京都国立博物館副館長の栗原祐司先生から基調講演があり、カンボジア、インド、日本の各国文化遺産教育への取り組みが報告されました。基調報告を踏まえて、参加者が発表するカントリーレポートでは、母国の博物館や行政組織が担う文化遺産教育の役割が詳細に事例発表され、各国共通の悩みを共有し、解決策を相互に提案するなど、活発な議論が展開されました。
 コーディネーターは、元ミャンマー考古局局長のU Nyunt Han先生、北海道大学の田代亜紀子准教授、本学総合グローバル学部の丸井雅子教授、アジア人材養成研究センターのNhim Sotheavin研究員でした。
閉会にあたり、石澤所長から参加者への謝辞と「次回のワークショップは是非ともカンボジアで開催したい。「アセアン版文化遺産教育マニュアル」を皆さんと一緒に引き続き検討していきたい」と挨拶がありました。


 A project endorsed by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, that is, an international workshop on the topic, “Building International Alliances that contribute to Cultural Heritage Education in the 10 nations of ASEAN,” was organized online on January 8th (Saturday) and 9th (Sunday). (The person responsible for its implementation was Professor Dr. Yoshiaki Ishizawa, director of the Sophia Asia Center for Research and Human Development). The participants on that day comprised 25 experts on cultural heritage education from 8 nations (namely Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Japan).
 At the commencement we had the opening address by Dr. Tsutomu Sakuma, Chancellor of the Sophia school Corporation, and following this we had keynote addresses by Dr. Heng Sophaday, President of the Royal University of Arts of Cambodia, Dr. Cyril Veliath, Professor Emeritus of Sophia University, and Dr. Yuji Kurihara, Deputy Director of the Kyoto National Museum. Reports were presented on the means adopted to tackle cultural heritage education in Cambodia, India, and Japan. Based on the keynote addresses, detailed case studies were presented in the country reports by the participants on the role played by museums and administrative organizations in their home countries, with reference to cultural heritage education. There was a sharing of issues common to all the nations, spirited discussions were conducted, and proposals regarding solutions to problems were mutually made.
 Those who serving as coordinators were Professor U Nyunt Han, the former director of the Myanmar Archaeological Bureau, Associate Professor Akiko Tashiro of Hokkaido University, Professor Masako Marui of the Faculty of Global Studies of Sophia University, and Dr. Nhim Sotheavin, Researcher at the Sophia Asia Center for Research and Human Development.
 At the conclusion, the director Dr Ishizawa expressed his gratitude to all the participants and affirmed, “I would definitely like to conduct the next workshop in Cambodia. I would like to continue pondering over the issue of the ASEAN Cultural Heritage Education Manual, with everyone.”
