The story of Hoh-Kun Yuen: physicist, father, ice-skater, and radical documentarian. H.K. Yuen recorded decades of social movements in and around the San Francisco Bay area, starting in 1963 with the Free Speech Movement, through the Anti-War Movement, the Third World Liberation Front, the Anti-Apartheid Struggles of the 80's, and the Anti-Gulf War protests. His archive contains photos, films, and publications of the movements, as well as over 30,000 hours of taped speeches, rallies, and radio broadcasts. His work was inspired by a radical view of science and history and he named it The Frog In The Well Archive, after a Chinese fable.
