本ドキュメンタリーはこれまで未公開の「イサム・ノグチ自身の表情と語り」によって構成され、イサム・ノグチの「生−彫刻への想い」が全編にちりばめられている。アメリカ人と日本人の混血として生まれた苦悩の中でイサム・ノグチが開眼したものは、「彫刻は地球そのものに刻み込まれるもの」という"革命的なビジョン"であった。それはまた、これからの私達の生き方にも強烈な示唆を投げかける。
One day, in the winter of 1933-1934, I had a vison. I saw the Earth as sculpture and that the sculpture of the future would be on the Earth. The idea that a sculptor, an artist, can be so privileged to have the nerve, chutzpah, or whatever you want to call it, to extend his domain that far is a little bit outlandish.
