To Borrow

  • Automatic check out machines are available beside the 1F Circulation Counter of the Central Library for users to borrow books.

  • Return your book(s) to the Central Library Circulation Desk.

FOR OTHERS

To Borrow

  • You can borrow five books for two weeks.
  • Bring the book(s) you want to borrow to our reception desk. We will put a slip in the book(s) as a “Proof of Borrowing.” Before you leave the Library, bring your book(s) to the Circulation Desk of the Central Library and ask them to de-magnetize them (The books have magnetic strips).
  • When you wish to keep your book(s) more than two weeks, you need to visit the Institute and borrow them again.

To Return

  • Return your book(s) to the Central Library Circulation Desk.

Reserve Service

All reserve materials are located at the front counter of the American Section. They are on two-hour reserve. You may have one-hour “grace-period” (extension). You can keep one book at a time. You have to use the book in the library. In case you come to the Institute after 4:00 pm, you can check out the book; please return it by 10:00 am of the following business day. When using our reserve materials, you are requested to see our staff members.

Researching Periodicals

Periodicals are only available for viewing in the institute. They are not available for borrowing.
If you wish to make photocopies, please be sure to leave your ID card (student ID card etc.) with a staff member at the Institute before making copies.

Attending Lectures

Our institute sponsors lectures by scholars both from Japan and abroad from time to time. Detailed information about upcoming event will be posted on this website. For questions and sign-up, please call us (at 03-3238-3908) or email us.

Saturday, Sunday and holidays closed
(The institute closes during part of the summer and winter breaks.)
