• 国際ワークショップ「「非暴力」という戦略、「非暴力」という未来」のお知らせ (2018年11月17日（土）東京大学東洋文化研究所)

大学間連携等による共同研究「アジア・アフリカにおける諸宗教の関係の歴史と現状」では、国際ワークショップを下記の要領で開催します。

本共同研究は上智大学イスラーム研究センターと早稲田大学イスラーム地域研究機構が共催する連携事業であり、アジア・アフリカを対象地域として、 イスラームと他の宗教との比較や関係の分析を目指します。今年度は、毎回研究会ごとにテーマを設け、それに沿って異なる宗教や地域の事例を比較します。 科研費基盤研究(A)「イスラーム・ジェンダー学の構築のための基礎的総合的研究」（代表：東京大学 長沢栄治）等との共催で開催する本ワークショップでは、 「非暴力」をテーマとして、中東イスラーム地域とそれ以外の各地の事例について報告いただきます。

国際ワークショップ「「非暴力」という戦略、「非暴力」という未来」

非暴力は、暴力に満ちた前世紀に生み出された、一つの重要な戦略であった。 平和的に「大衆」を動員する方法として、非暴力は、異なる地域の異なる 目的や 文脈の中で用いられてきた。そうして一定の成功を収めてきたはずのこの戦略が、 今世紀に入り、大きな挑戦を受けつつある。その挑戦とは何か、 それは乗り越え られるものなのか―。本ワークショップでは、非暴力をめぐる過去と現在、未来 について考えていく。

International Workshop “Nonviolence as a Strategy, Nonviolence in the Future”

Nonviolence acquired increasing salience in political struggles raging within societies in a violent twentieth century. Although it was differently understood and applied in various contexts, nonviolence consisted of mobilizing a collective body of individuals, the ‘people’. A shared sense of direct yet peaceful action can be seen. This once successful strategy is now facing many challenges as we approach the end of the second decade of the twenty-first century. In this international workshop, we will discuss what these challenges are and what are the opportunities of overcoming them. We will inquire into the past, present, and future of nonviolence.
