【Abstract】
Established in the middle of XX century, two primary institutions for scholarly research in the fields of Oriental Philology and Ottoman History, namely Oriental Institute in Sarajevo and Faculty of Philosophy of Sarajevo University are approaching their seventieth anniversary. The presenter will offer an overview of their academic position and significance within former Yugoslavia and present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina scholarly tradition, their past and present achievements, the challenges they face, current research trends, and share thoughts about prospect research developments.
