- 同大学は、スペイン・カタルーニャ州に所在する公立大学で、正式に設立されたのは1991年であるが、歴史的な起源としては、カタルーニャおよびアラゴン連合王国で最初に設立された大学とされる。カタルーニャ語、スペイン語、英語、によるプログラムを提供する多言語教育で知られている。リェイダ市内にある4つのキャンパスに7学部を擁し、農学、林学、自然科学、数学、法学、社会福祉学など14の分野で38の学士号を授与している。特に農学、食品技術、林学の分野でスペインをリードする研究・教育機関である。
