The long experience of French teaching to Japanese students convinced us of the importance of body movements based on language rhythm. This article tries to explicate how this conviction was made up through the encounter with the Verbo-tonal system, and why the essence of this human-oriented system, the optimality, is fully in accord with our idea of body movements.
