TWO MALAY QUR’ANIC COMMENTARIES FROM MINDANAO:
A PRELIMINARY STUDY

　This article examines two manuscripts of Malay Qur’anic commentary from Mindanao, the Philippines. These two manuscripts are kept in Syiekh Ulomuddin and Ahmad Bashier collections. In this article, the writer also compares them with other Malay Qur’anic commentaries, i.e. Turjuman al-Mustafid and De Koran Met Maleische Vertaling. The former is a Malay Qur’anic commentary written by Abd al-Rauf al-Fansuri al-Sinkiliin 1675 M. Meanwhile, the latter is Qur’anic mushaf from Banten predicted from 18th century. It contains interlinear translations of the Qur’an in Malay.
