Economics, as a field of social science, make use of theoretical models and data, but it is essentially a discipline that helps us better understand human behavior and the social phenomena that result from it. The same can be said for development economics, which deals with topics such as poverty and development. In today’s globalized economy, there is often no inconvenience in being completely indifferent to the relationship between the way we exist and the way our economy affects others. This is even when causes of poverty are intertwined with our society’s structure and our actions.

This is why we should be eager to better understand the various socioeconomic problems that are happening around us and the people who are trying to survive in them. Society cannot be changed simply through personal knowledge. Let’s study together and think about how we can make the most of what we have learned and make a commitment to society.
