Etymological Vocabulary of Japanese, Korean, and AinuJohannes Rahder
Monographs (1956) pp. 1–73
The present monograph is a sequel to my preceding etymological studies of Japanese, published in four installments under the title Comparative Treatment of the Japanese Language in Monumenta Nipponica 7(1951).198-208, 8(1952).239-288, 9(1953).199-257, 10(1954).127-168, and earlier under other titles in Monumenta Nipponica 3(1940).177-181, 525-548, 4(1941).634-6[illegible].
Sigilla and abbreviations of names of persons and languages, linguistic terms, titles of books, papers and periodicals, the system of linguistic symbols and phonetic notation (transliteration) are identical with those used in Monumenta Nipponica volumes 7-10. The paragraph (entry) numbers of the monograph continue the paragraphs numbered 1-150 in Monumenta Nipponica vol. 10, and the not numbered entries in Monumenta Nipponica vol. 9, where the first installment of my etymological vocabulary (comparative word list) appeared.
