Brother Lourenҫo’s Japanese name is unknown; his Life has not been written; Japanese history is silent about him. Yet his was a truly apostolic career. Full forty years of his life did he spend in assisting the Jesuits in their arduous missionary labours in Japan. It is the author’s intention in this article to bring to light the little that is known about this remarkable man.
