In September 2018 he was hired as a faculty member (assistant professor by special appointment) at Sophia University, and is currently in charge of the second phase of the restoration of the Angkor Wat Western Causeway. Professor Hirayama Yoshikichi and eight other professors go over to the site to provide help regarding the erection technology of this work. Professor Marui Masako was from the start engaged in on-site training at the Banteay Kdei temple, and she witnessed the unearthing of the 274 buried Buddhist statues. Although introduced late, nevertheless Professor Tsuboi Yoshiharu happens to be a deputy chief of the team, and he was affiliated to the socio-economic group. We requested him to deal with the issue of theoretical guidance, as to how Asian cultural heritage research and international cooperation ought to be.
