Other than those things you study in class, I learned and discovered a lot through my experience in the local environment of South East Asia. Among the things I gained through my study abroad experience were: I was able to discuss and learn global management issues related to international management, which is my major, with international students from various countries; It offered me a good chance to consider how I can become involved in the economic development of South East Asia in my future career; I was able to observe the attitudes of local students towards their own culture; I realized that understanding different cultures also deepens understanding about yourself. One of the main aims I had set before I started off to Thailand was to study business administration from diverse perspectives in an overseas setting. Now I have returned and when I look back about what I gained, I feel that I’ve gained something much larger than what I had expected. At the same time, I was made aware that my English abilities have not yet reached the global level, making it clear to me what I need to work on from now. If you have even a slight desire for studying abroad, I recommend you go right now. I know there may be various obstacles including costs, job hunting, and earning credits for graduation, but Sophia offers a favorable environment for students who wish to study abroad. Don’t let the chance slip by and just enjoy the experience.
